The Early Years Foundation Stage

Our curriculum at our Day Care in Peterborough, is designed to teach and educate your child through fun and engaging activities and to learn through their play. With the support of our key person approach and working closely with parents, this gives the best possible to start to a child’s life.

The Early Years Foundation Stage consists of a statutory framework for the Early Years which sets the standards for learning development and care for children from birth to five years. The practice guidance documents support staff in assessing a child’s progress and helps them to provide the best learning experiences for all babies and children.

The Aim

The aim of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to learn through high quality play experiences and that they will be supported through this journey by their relationship with the key person assigned to them at Apricot Nursery Peterborough.

Key person system at our Day Care in Peterborough

The key person at our Day Care in Peterborough, will plan key experiences based on your child’s interests and stage of development and will observe and monitor your child. My daughter settled really quickly here, out of the 4 childcare providers Millie has been to, Apricot has been the best. The staff are down to earth and friendly and Millie loves it. Being qualified in childcare myself, it’s nice to finally find a place where I feel she’s getting the best! Thank you!

A great setting with great staff, our daughter loves coming here for after school club to play and see all her friends, hopefully our other daughter will get the same chance to go there when she gets to primary school.

My daughter loves this nursery, she is always happy after sessions. Very friendly staff, healthy food, clean rooms. In our previous nursery my daughter always cried, had night terrors, every time was dirty, but Apricot is amazing, I see big progress in my daughter behavior, she is calm and happy now. Very recommend!
