View typical FAQ’s here and feel more at ease. Choosing a day nursery for the first time can be a little daunting and we understand that you will probably have lots of questions. We will be happy to answer them personally but in the meantime you may find some useful answers in our Parent FAQs below.
We recommend as soon as possible to secure your place as the nurseries can fill up very fast.
There are a few options, you can contact our Nursery by telephone or email to arrange a tour of the nursery and complete the paperwork. Alternatively, you can book a place via our online booking form, and complete application form.
To ensure a smooth transition into nursery we recommend at least 2/3 settling-in visits for all children to enable them to adapt to their new surroundings and to meet staff and children in the room. Where possible, we suggest this is done over 2 weeks to ensure there is time if required, to increase the number of visits.
OFSTED inspections take place approximately once every cycle, this is normally between 2 and 5 years. New settings are inspected with 2½ years of opening.
We are open from 8am to 6pm. Our nursery is open 52 weeks of the year and only closed for bank holidays.
Yes, all staff have to have a DBS check completed when they first start at Apricot Day Nursery. DBS checks are then renewed every two years.
Our staff are qualified to Level 3 in childcare or higher. Staff who do not hold a level 3 qualification are currently studying towards one.
We hold regular first aid courses throughout the nursery group for all our staff and our aim is to ensure everyone is first aid trained within a short time of starting Kids Planet.
Yes, we offer FREE funded places for eligible 2 year olds and 3-4 year olds are eligible for 15 and 30 hours free childcare.
We hold an out-of-school club – Jumping Jacks is an OfSTED registered Holiday Club and Out-of-School Club based within the Big Sky Soft Play Centre in Peterborough. Part of Apricots Day Nursery, it provides childcare, around school hours and during holiday times, for children up to the age of 11.
Caring for children during term time, Jumping Jacks’ Before & After School Club gives children the opportunity to let off steam, relax or engage in fun, different and exciting activities after school each day. Based within the Big Sky Soft Play Centre, the club’s dedicated suite provides a safe and secure setting, with the benefits of the soft play facility just yards away. Children have the choice to engage in exciting group activities, such as baking or painting, or they can enjoy our large range of toys and games; from dressing up to jigsaws to computer games.
Delicious, healthy snacks + unlimited juice are provided to all children whilst at Jumping Jacks.
For children from St. Botolph’s Primary School, Jumping Jacks also provides an additional ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ service, delivering and collecting children from school each day, meaning that busy working parents no longer have to worry about the school run. Parents can drop off their child at Jumping Jacks from 8am, happy in the knowledge that they will be taken safely and on time to school in the Jumping Jacks mini-bus. Children are picked up after school by the Jumping Jacks team and brought back to the Jumping Jacks Club, to be picked up by parents by 6pm.
We welcome children from all local schools for our after-school & holiday clubs. We believe in the strong friendships that can form and develop all the way into secondary school & beyond.
Jumping Jacks Out of School club members also benefit from priority booking for our popular Holiday Clubs.
The Jumping Jacks school club provides a convenient, reliable and affordable setting for children aged up to 11 between 3pm and 6pm each day.
